Privacy Policy

Accessing the website
When the page is accessed, the server processes technically necessary access data (IP address, time, file accessed) in server logs in order to deliver the page and ensure its operation (Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR). These logs are retained for a short period and then deleted.
Data minimisation
This directory deliberately collects very little data. It displays business details (name, category, contact details, approximate location or service area) provided by businesses – but no private residential addresses of individuals.
Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd.) for audience analysis. This involves setting cookies and processing usage data (including pages visited, device type, approximate location and truncated IP address), which is then transmitted to Google; this data may be transferred to the USA. You can prevent this data collection by blocking or deleting cookies in your browser, or by installing the browser add-on to disable Google Analytics (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout).
Google Search Console
The page contains a verification tag (meta tag) for Google Search Console. It does not set any cookies and does not process any personal data simply by viewing the page.
Map (OpenStreetMap)
For the map view, map tiles from OpenStreetMap (OpenStreetMap Foundation) and the Leaflet map library are loaded via a CDN; for technical reasons, your IP address is transmitted to these services in the process (Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR).
Contact and Registration Form
If you write to us or suggest a provider, we will process the data you provide solely for the purpose of dealing with your enquiry (Article 6(1)(b) and (f) of the GDPR). The message will be sent by email to info@okau.de delivered and deleted there as soon as it is no longer required.
Accounts and profiles
When you create an account, we process your username, email address, password (exclusively as a secure hash, never in plain text) and, optionally, your date of birth, location, profile photo and profile text in order to provide your account and the community features (Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR). Uploaded images are re-encoded upon upload, with any metadata they contain being removed. You can edit your profile at any time; to delete your account, simply send a message to info@okau.de.
Wall and public posts
Content you publish (e.g. wall posts) is visible to other registered users. Please do not publish any sensitive personal data there. The legal basis is the performance of the contract or our legitimate interest in operating the platform (Article 6(1)(b) and (f) of the GDPR). We use a technically necessary session cookie (nb_sess) for the login process.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and data portability, as well as the right to object and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Contact: info@okau.de.
