What is a neighbourhood?
Nachbarschaft is a local portal that brings together service providers, recommendations, classified adverts, a forum and events in your town. The aim is to help you quickly find what you need locally – and to connect with your neighbours.
How much does it cost to use?
It’s free to use – search, register, place classified adverts, post on the forum and send messages. There are no fees and no payment processing via the platform.
Where does the provider data come from?
Many entries are sourced from OpenStreetMap (open geodata) and from suggestions made by users. All information is provided without guarantee – please check important details directly with the provider.
What do ‘Verified’, ‘Recommended by neighbours’ and ‘Sponsored’ mean?
These three characteristics have been deliberately separated. Verified In other words, our team has checked the listing – it’s not for sale. Recommended by neighbours takes into account independent feedback from residents. Sponsored indicates a paid placement – it is clearly marked and does not affect either the ranking or the verification status.
How do I register my business?
About Add a provider You can suggest an entry. We review every suggestion before it is published. There is no guarantee that a suggestion will be included.
How do the classified adverts work?
With a free account, you can place adverts including a title, category, price, description and photos. Interested parties will contact you via the messaging function. You sort out the purchase, price and handover directly with each other – the platform does not handle any payments. Be careful with payments in advance.
How does the forum work?
There are topic-based forums and a separate forum for each city. Once you’ve logged in, you can create topics, reply to posts and like them. Please keep discussions objective and respectful.
How do I report inappropriate content?
You’ll find the link on every advert Report this advert. For other content, please contact us at info@okau.de. Our team reviews reports and may block content or accounts.
How do I change or delete my account?
Under Edit profile You can change your details, photo and password. To delete your account, simply send a message to info@okau.de.
What is the situation regarding data protection?
We deliberately collect very little data; uploaded images are re-encoded during the upload process (metadata is removed). You can find further details in the Privacy Policy.
